Wayne Henry Hughes

Visitation for Wayne Hughes, age 83, of Hartselle will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Home.

Mr. Hughes, who died Sunday, September 15, 2024, at his residence, was born December 16, 1940, to Dewey Hughes and Grace Downs.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Hughes; parents; two brothers, Buster Hughes and Jimmy Hughes; two sisters, Lola "Mutt" Ogle and Joy Hughes; and two grandchildren, Joshua Adam Morgan and Hayden Xavier Sackett.

Mr. Hughes was the owner of Valley Upholstery for 60 years, He was a loving and kind person who helped where he could. He was a big flirt and a huge Alabama fan. He was very supportive of his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Eddie Wayne Hughes and William Dean Hughes (Deb); two daughters, Barbara Morgan Huey and Sheena Blair Sackett (Russell); brother, Dewey Lee Hughes; two sisters, Melody Hughes and Janet Mitchell; eight grandchildren, Chris Morgan, Tim Morgan, Tiffany Hughes, Megan Pitts, Ailey Sackett, Rylan Sackett, Daniel Hughes, and Laura Hughes; and seven great-grandchildren.
