Vernon Veston Austin

Memorial service for Vernon Veston Austin, age 93, of Decatur will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Ledbetter officiating.  The family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to service.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mr. Austin, who died Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born June 25, 1931, in Lawrence County, AL to Arthur Ambers Austin and Bertha M. Brooks Austin.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cook Austin, and his parents.  Mr. Austin was a U. S. Air Force Korean War veteran who served from 1951 - 1953.  He owned the aircraft repair company, ARCO, Inc., at Pryor Field Airport for 50 years.   

He is survived by two sons, Alan V. Austin and Mark R. Austin; two grandchildren, Zachary A. Austin and Shannon Stull.
