The family of Timothy Dovell "Tim" Haley, age 69, of Trinity, will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will immediately follow at Midway Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jonathan Pritchard officiating.
Timothy Dovell Haley, 69, of Trinity, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 2nd, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 24, 1957, in Morgan County, to Carolyn and Dovell Haley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Patrick Haley. He is survived by his loving wife, Annette Haley; brother, Ricky Haley (Sandy); daughter, Dr. Heather Haley Phillips (Brandon); son, Heath Haley (Amy); grandchildren, Harper Phillips, Noah Haley, and Madelyn Haley; along with a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Mr. Haley graduated from West Morgan High School in Trinity, AL in 1975. He was an avid athlete, serving as quarterback of the football team his senior year. During that time he also fell in love with a certain cheerleader named Annette. Tim and Annette were married in June of 1976, and would have celebrated 50 years on the 18th. They built a beautiful life of faith and love, and his family was his most honored accomplishment.
Upon graduating high school, Mr. Haley went to work as a welder at Willo Products in Decatur, AL where his grandfather, Tom Sims, was the shop foreman. He left there in 1977 for an auto manufacturing job with Saginaw Steering Gear in Athens, AL. With support from Annette, he earned his BSBA from Athens State College in 1990 while working full time, and helping raise two small children. Mr. Haley dedicated more than 40 years to his career in auto manufacturing, excelling in various assignments in operations and quality, becoming a plant manager in 2000. Many have described him as leading with a strong, yet patient demeanor. In 2009 his product line relocated to Saginaw, MI taking him and Annette on a great northern adventure. He continued there as a well respected member of the work force and community, retiring as an executive in 2020 from the now Nexteer Automotive.
Apart from his career, Mr. Haley was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all. His most prized role was that of Pappaw to his three grandchildren whom he adored. Through the years, he was a father figure to many young people, from all walks of life, always opening his home to everyone. He served as a little league coach at the Boys and Girls club, often picking kids up in his truck, and getting them a hamburger whenever needed. Over the years, he taught countless kids how to fish, safely operate a boat, and water ski.
Mr. Haley’s most favorite pastime was crappie fishing. He surely had a knack for catching them, and loved to fry them up to enjoy. He mastered the art of spider rigging, and shared his talents with so many. He had a vast network of fishing buddies, and loved to give away his catch to anyone who would eat them. He loved being at the river with family, any opportunity to be on the golf course, and watching his grandkids play at the ball field.
Affectionately known as “Timmy” or “Timbo” by those who loved him most, he was known for his gentle, kind, generous spirit. He maintained his strong will to live through his love for his family, and his unrelenting faith - until the very end. He blessed so many in this life, and he will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Heath Haley, Brandon Phillips, Paul Haley, Ricky Haley, Mike Turner, Ronnie Halbrooks, and Ron Halbrooks.
