Shirley Kenneth Owens

Funeral service for Shirley "Kenneth" Owens, age 86, of Danville will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Nathaniel Johnson officiating.  The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service.  Interment will be in Red Hill Cemetery.  

Kenneth Owens, lovingly known for his steady presence, kind heart, and deep love for his family, passed away on January 11, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He will be remembered as a devoted family man who found joy in simple moments, especially time spent outdoors and with the people he loved most.

Kenneth was a proud member of UAW Local 2195 and spent many years working at Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems in Tanner, Alabama, retiring in 2002. His work ethic and dedication were evident to everyone who knew him, and he took pride in providing for his family.

Above all, he treasured his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and those moments together meant everything to him. He also enjoyed cheering on Alabama Crimson Tide football, he loved watching Caitlin Clark play with the Indiana Fever, and most of all enjoyed his spare time in the outdoors fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Owens; son, Timothy Owens; parents, Emmett Paul Owens and Lorea Armstrong Owens; two brothers, Edward Owens and Mervin Owens; and two grandsons, Holden and Caleb Owens. 

He is survived by his son, Keith Owens (Debbie); two daughters, Pam McCaghren and Phillisa Johnson (Stacy); 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt special thank you to Carla, Savannah, Jan, and Chaplain John Davis of Aveanna Hospice, and also to special caregivers, Tammi and Beth, for all their kindness and support.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Pallbearers will be Logan Owens, Jay Owens, Nathaniel Johnson, Stacy Johnson, Tyler Thrasher, and Matthew McCaghren.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Red Hill Cemetery. Checks should be made payable to Red Hill Cemetery and mailed to Marisa Keenum, 745 County Road 334, Moulton, AL 35650.
