Funeral service for Shirley Fay McCay Newton, age 89, of Moulton will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Nelson and Pastor Chris Bell officiating. Mrs. Newton, who died Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at NHC Moulton, was born July 20, 1935, in Lawrence County to Andrew McCay, Sr. and Mattie Waldrep McCay. She was a homemaker, loving mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Lawrence County Rescue Squad. A member of the Moulton Church of God, she was a strong Christian influence to her family and friends. Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her spouse, Earl Newton, and her parents.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Newton (Paula); daughters, Glenda Abbott (R.B.) and Tanyal Naylor (Ronnie); three brothers; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Hoyt McCaghren.
Pallbearers will be Brad Abbott, Josh Naylor, Joe Naylor, Brad Vaughan; Joe Hitt, and Spence Currin.
The family wishes to thank family and friends, Hospice of the Valley, and everyone at NHC in Moulton for their love and care of Shirley.
