Funeral service for Sebastian Christopher "Astian" Mears, age 24, of Courtland, will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Parkway Church of God with Neal Fowler and Marvin Huckaba officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Mears, who died Sunday, November 16, 2025, at his residence, was born November 11, 2001, in Alabama to Joel Lee Mears and Sherry Von Jones Mears. He was preceded in death by his mother. Astian loved to coon hunt, ride horses, compete in rodeos, and drive his big truck. Any stranger was merely a friend he had not yet met. He attended Parkway Church of God and Time of the Harvest Church. Astian had a joyful spirit and kept everyone laughing.
He is survived by his father, Joel Mears; brother, Kylan Jones (Heather); four sisters, Calista Jones, Christy Jones (Nathan), Misty Kelly (Patrick), and Samantha Corbin (Kenneth); a host of nephews and nieces; and his natural father, Christopher Jones.
Pallbearers will be Conner Jones, Cameron Jones, Peyton Kelly, Ethan Parker, Chandler Kelly, and Zane Pitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Brysen Kelly, Zac Corbin, and Brodie Horton.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Bo Pitt and Brian Wilson for their devoted and unwaivering friendship.
