Ronald Dale "Ron" Melson

Funeral service for Ronald Dale "Ron" Melson, age 57, of Decatur, will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Winans officiating.  His family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mr. Melson, who died Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born February 24, 1966, in Alabama to Willard Melson and Mattie (Brackin) Melson Winans.  He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Don Winans.  Mr. Melson enjoyed golf, Alabama football and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shannon (Hanback) Melson; mother, Mattie Winans; son, Brandon Melson; daughter, Meredith Melson; two stepdaughters, Whitney Couch and Courtney Couch; two brothers, Danny Melson (Felicia) and Brad Melson (Susie); sister, Jeannie Wright; stepbrother, Chris Winans (Deborah); three step-grandchildren, Bentley Dillard, Waiverly Dillard, and Major Muston; and his beloved dog, Camo.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
