Funeral service for Robert Waldon Payne, age 90, of Decatur, will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at New Beginning Baptist Church with Bro. Clyde Ledlow officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in Caddo Cemetery.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfh.com.

Mr. Payne, who died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his residence, was born January 7, 1936, in Alabama to Anthony Tony Payne and Essie Mae Beck Payne.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Geneva Denny (James); parents; brothers, Silas Payne (Annie-Mae), Malcolm Payne (Linda), and Junior Payne (Mildred); sisters, Orene Stewart (Tom), Eunice Montgomery (George), Stella Rollins (David), Frances Lang (Walter), and Fronnie Hill (Tag); grandchildren, Michael Payne, Katie Payne, Logan Payne, and Amier Williams; Libby Lucille Payne, mother to his children; and daughters-in-law, Janice Payne and Melody Payne.

He is survived by his sons, Hank Payne (Joyce) and Ricky Payne; daughters, Rose Watkins, Amanda Tello (Jorge); and Marie Osborn; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Hank Payne, Robert Payne, Tony James, Tad Green, Harold Rogers, Justice Allred, Levi Allred, and Josh Payne.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ravin Allred and Regina Rogers.
