Mr. Rex Marlin Mooney, age 67, of Decatur, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at NHC Healthcare Moulton. His family will host a private celebration of life. Parkway Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.
Mr. Mooney was born October 31, 1955, in Alabama to Harry Fleming Mooney and Ruth Robbins Mooney. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Steve Mooney. Mr. Mooney was a lifelong resident of Morgan County; a 1974 graduate of West Morgan High School; and a 1982 graduate of Athens State College.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michie (Payne) Mooney; three sons, Benjamin Mooney (Tiffany), Timothy Mooney (Kim), and Daniel Mooney (Rachel Hermann); one daughter, Anna Alexander (Jason); five grandchildren, Emma Mooney, Christian Alexander, Esther Alexander, Briggs Mooney, and Sloane Mooney; and his beloved cat, Zazzles.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of NHC Healthcare Moulton for their compassionate care of Mr. Mooney.
