Ms. Kitchens, who died Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born March 3, 1957, in South Carolina to Roland Stewart "Stu" Owensby and Barbara Sue Bass Owensby.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen Segars (Richard).  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and watching TV, but Alabama football was her passion.  Collecting gadgets was a hobby that she enjoyed.  She was a member of Piney Chapel Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son, Michael Kitchens (Selena); daughter, Magon Kitchens Flannagan (Corey);and nine grandchildren, Lane Kitchens, Tyler Kitchens, Christian Chaney, Keylan Short, Aiden Kitchens, Kensley Short, Camden Kitchens, Kaleb Flannagan, and Jaxon Flannagan..
