Michael Shane Owens

Celebration of Life for Michael Shane Owens, age 49, of Trinity will be 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at The Venue at Warehouse Coffee (315 Main Street, West, Hartselle).  Parkway Funeral Home is assisting his family with arrangements.  

Mr. Owens, who died Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his residence, was born April 27, 1976, in Alabama to Charles Lamar Owens and Shelby Jean Parker Owens.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  He was a beloved teacher at F. E. Burleson Elementary School who won "Teacher of the Year" in 2023, was called "Uncle" of the 2nd grade team, and was known for his commitment to his students and peers.  He was a selfless educator whose kindness, humility, and humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Scott Owens; nephews, Jeffrey Blade Owens (Lily) and Cody Buck Owens; nieces, Chelsie Danielle Owens, Kasi Greathouse, and Hailey Larkins; special cousins, Gina Grissom (husband, Patrick, and children, Mercedes, Alexis, and Allie) and Misty Davenport (husband, Kelly, and children, Payton and Skylar); stepmother, Barbara Owens; a host of other loving cousins and extended family; and  his baby, Winston, who is the sweetest Boston terrier.
