Martha Lou (Roberts) Sparks

Funeral service for Martha Lou Sparks, age 83, of Moulton, will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew Jetton officiating.  The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service.  Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mrs. Sparks, who died Friday, April 10, 2026, at her residence, was born December 25, 1942, in Alabama to Kyle James Roberts and Ilva Lou Moss Roberts Defenthaler.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Smith and Thomas Sparks; parents; brothers, James Roberts and Wayne Roberts; and sister, Jane Sweet.  Mrs. Roberts thoroughly enjoyed singing about her savior, Jesus, yard saling, composing and performing her own songs, and writing poetry.  She especially enjoyed time spent with family here and in Michigan.

She is survived by two sons, Tony Smith (Nora) and Tim Smith (Jeannette); two daughters, Teresa Terrell and Tammie Hosmer (Billy); brother, Gar Defenthaler (Toni); sister-in-law, Judy Roberts; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
