Marita Lynn (Hames) Smith

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our loved one, Marita Lynn Hames Smith, who went home to glory on July 26, 2025.  She was 56.  Marita was born in Wayne, MI to W. T. and Sylvia (McCay) Hames on October 4, 1968. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

She is survived by her daughter, Angel Payne; two sons, D. J. Payne and Bo Smith.  Marita leaves behind four siblings:  a brother, Alton Hames; and three sisters, Belinda Johnson, Ronda Wright (Randall), and Amanda Pepper (Danny).  She had six nieces and five nephews.

There will be a graveside service on August 2, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Brannon Bradford officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.
