Luther Elmer "Sonny" Gautney, III

Memorial service for Luther Elmer "Sonny" Gautney, III, age 83, of Decatur, will be 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Greene officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.  

Mr. Gautney, who died Monday, March 9, 2026, at his residence, was born April 13, 1942, in Alabama to Luther Elmer Gautney, Jr. and Gwen McNair Gautney.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Betty Gautney Holt (Don).

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Sandlin Gautney; sons, Steve Gautney (Dee) and Nick Letson (Krystal); daughters, Sonya Gautney and Michelle Hanks (Jared); 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
