With deep sorrow but faith in God's plan, we announce the passing of Lois Chaney. Funeral service for Mrs. Chaney, age 90, of Decatur will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Mrs. Chaney, a beloved mother who died Sunday, September 7, 2025, at her residence, was born February 4, 1935, in Alabama to John and Geneva McDougal . She was a true Christian, faithful to God. She was a woman of faith, love, and kindness, always putting her family and others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Chaney; son, Carl Chaney; parents; four sisters, Sue Blumenburg, Gledious Melson, Cleo Brooks, and Methel Coleman; brother, Clifton McDougal; and granddaughter, Becky Michelle Chaney.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Chaney; sisters, Merline Lafever and Marsha Roberts; and grandchild, Jason Wigginton.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
