Lalon Wade Downs

Lalon Wade Downs, age 71, of Decatur, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in Moulton.  His family may host a celebration of life at a later date.  Parkway Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mr. Downs was born January 31, 1953, in Alabama to Lalon Talmadge Downs and Edna Lee Nash Downs.  He was preceded in death by his son, Walter Aaron Downs, and his parents.  He was a veteran who served in Vietnam with the U. S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1974.  As a chemical operator he retired from 3M.  His leisure hours were enjoyed spending time with family, playing and coaching softball, and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Fran Bradford Downs; son, Brandon Wade Downs; brother, Terry Brian Downs (Melinda); and two sisters, Joan Gail Smith and Mary Elizabeth Clark Gatlin.
