Kathrine (Owens) Glover

Graveside service for Kathrine Glover, age 85, of Trinity will be Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Midway Memorial Gardens, at 1:00 PM with Rev. Steve Ledbetter  officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mrs. Glover, who died Thursday, December 29, 2022, in Moulton, was born May 14, 1937, to Frank and Novella Owens.  She was preceded in death by her husband, R. A. Glover, Jr.; her parents, three brothers, Raymond Owens, Frank Owens, Jr., and Denford Owens; daughter, Chris Saint; grandson, Jimmy Lee Smith; and three great-granddaughters, Hannah Borden, Alley Marie Keenum, and Ariel Shea Keenum.

Kathrine was one of 12 children born to Bud and Novella Owens.  She graduated from Speake High School in 1949.  She worked with her dad in the cotton field and as a seamstress. On August 31, 1957, she married R. A. Glover Jr., with whom she raised four children, Kathy, Chris, Robert, and Bonnie.  They were blessed with eight grandchildren, Kevin, Alan, Amanda, Justin, Jimmy Lee, Josh, Lamar, and Jessica; and 14 great-grandchildren, Abbey and Mason Saint, Hannah and Austin Borden, Christina Smith, Crimson, Naomi, and John River Brannan, Alley, Ariel, and Samuel Keenum, and Trenton, Vincent, and Owen Glover.

She loved to sing Christian hymns, and especially songs by the Statler Brothers and Gatlin Brothers. Some of her other joys in life were flower gardens, cooking, spending time with her family, and John Deere tractors.  An avid sports fan, Kathrine loved the Alabama Crimson Tide and Atlanta Braves.

She is survived by her son, Robert Glover; two daughters, Kathy Smith and Bonnie Brannan; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Lamar, Alan, Josh, Jessica, Amanda, and Justin; and 11 great-grandchildren, Abby, Mason, Austin, Christina, Crimson, Naomi, John River, Samuel, Vincent, Owen ,and Trenton.

Pallbearers will be Jerry, Josh, Riley, Kevin Dewayne, Gene, and Austin.
