Joyce Louise (Tolbert) Norton

Funeral service for Joyce Louise (Tolbert) Norton, age 80, of Decatur will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Tucker officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in Courtland City Cemetery.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mrs.Norton, who died Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born January 20, 1945, in Alabama to Elmo Tolbert and Mildred Louise Jones Tolbert.  She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Billy Ray Tolbert, Ronnie Tolbert, Jeffery Tolbert (Tammy), Danny Tolbert, and Steven Tolbert; and sister, Jean Stewart (Jerry).  She was a long time member of Parkview Baptist Church, loved spending time with her famly, and thoroughly enjoyed her job of taking care of children.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl Norton; daughters, Kimberly Sams and Tracie Netherton (Harvey); brother, Tommy Tolbert (Gail); sisters, Joan Appleton (Danny), Janet Malloy, and Julie Praitano; four grandchildren, Blaire Mason (Drake), Samantha Clines (Cody), Cole Netherton (Molly), and Kacie Ledingham (Griffin); and 10 great-grandchildren, Drayden Mason, Nash Mason, Lydia Young, Karley Mason, Kolbi Young, Willa-Raye Mason, Blakely Clines, Stevie Jo Netherton, Sunnie Blaire Mason, and Lilly Mae Netherton.

Pallbearers will be Nash Mason, Kevin Tolbert, Jeremy Stewart, Jarrod Brewer, Jeremy Speegle, and Drake Mason.
