Joy Faye (Pitt) Murphy

Funeral service for Joy Faye (Pitt) Murphy, age 90, of Decatur will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Raper and Rev. Mrs. Murphy, who died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at her residence, was born November 2, 1935, in Alabama to Edgar William Pitt and Nona Estelle Lancaster Pitt.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Murphy; two sons, Tony Murphy and Greg Murphy; parents; four brothers, Gene, Tom, Gerald, and Charles; sister, Annie; and son-in-law, Tommy Turner.  She thoroughly enjoyed working outdoors around her home.  She loved her church family at Crossroads Fellowship Church.  Mrs. Murphy spent her entire life serving God and working for the church.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Turner and Jennifer Mcabee; daughter-in-law, Denise Murphy; 10 grandchildren, Steve, April, Megan, Clint, Whitney, Josh, Macayla, Melissa, Melinda, and Justin; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Suter, Josh Mcabee, Mike Mcabee, Jerlyn Stoltzfus, Joseph "J.C." Mears, and Noel Foster.
