John Wayne Smith

Funeral service for John Wayne Smith, age 63, of Danville will be 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Sparks officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mr. John, who died Saturday, June 1, 2024, at his residence, was born  May 9, 1961, to  John E. and Myrtle Smith .   He was preceded in death by parents, brother John "Boe" Landers, sisters Dorothy Smith and Marie Parker. 

Mr. Smith was a loving dad and wonderful grandfather. He was employed by Darnell Farms for 20 years and was the best worker they had. He was also a mechanic for United Rentals for 10 years and John Deere Tractor in Athens.

He is survived by his son, Troy Smith (Amber); daughter, Angel McDugald (Justin); sisters, Magdalene Grissom and Patricia Taylor (Gary); and grandchildren, Autumn McDugald, Natalie Smith, Abby Smith, and Trevor Smith.
