Funeral for John C. Laymon, age 73, of Decatur will be Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Parkway Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Powers officiating. Burial will be in Flat Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Laymon, who died Saturday, March 19, 2016, in Decatur, was born Friday, February 12, 1943, to Lonnie Laymon and Emma Dean Laymon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Laymon; parents; and brother, Lonnie Laymon.

4 Daughters- Tammie Holland, Emma Melson, Michelle Landers, Brittany Laymon, Cassie Slaten
2 Brothers - Kenneth Laymon, Marvin Laymon
2 Sisters - Gracie Kitchens, Lucille Blackwell
21 grandchildren; Michael Tippett, Logan Galvez, Tosha Nelms, Todd Laymon, Dylan Melson, Courtnee Melson, Cassidi Melson, Damen Melson, April Ledlow, Leah Sapp, Josh Davis, Becka Stricklin, Jay Laymon, Ethan Laymon, Daniel Davis, Mason Nichols, Hailey Clemmons, Sara Slaten, TJ Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Taylor Roberts 10 great grandchildren Dakota Nelms, Aubree Laymon, Karlee Laymon, Hunter Stricklin, Jamine Holmes, Kaylee Holmes, Savannah Ledlow, Whitley Sapp, Tamra Nichols & Neveah Davis. Pallbearers will be Michael Nelms, Dewayne Davidson, McGee Laymon, James Landers, Will Holland.
