James William DeShong

Graveside service for James DeShong, age 83, of Moulton will be 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Moulton Memory Gardens, with David Little officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. DeShong, who died Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born Thursday, November 9, 1939, to Earl and Wilma DeShong .   He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mae DeShong, and his parents.

He is survived by five sons, Jim DeShong, Johnny DeShong, Denzil Borden (Linda), Cluetis Borden (Joyce), and Bueil Borden; five daughters, Libby Joiner (Tommy), Josephine Little, Brenda Long, Cynthia Brooks (Gary), and Rhonda DeShong; grandchildren, Steele Joiner and Dennis Joiner; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  

Pallbearers will be Steele Joiner, Dennis Joiner, Titan Theodoru, Jacob Harville, Cam Godsey, and Dakota Webster.
