James Starlin Halbrooks

Funeral service for James "Starlin" Halbrooks, age 82, of Town Creek, will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Owens officiating. Mr. Halbrooks, who died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at his residence, was born August 7, 1941, in Alabama to James Roy Halbrooks and Margaret Lou Oliver Halbrooks.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindalou "Cindy" Halbrooks; parents; and three sisters, Cather Franks, Brenda Marion (Bud), and Phyllis Redding (Ricky).  He enjoyed spending time with family.  His leisure time was spent fishing, watching old westerns, and listening to gospel music.

He is survived by his son, Keith Halbrooks; two daughters, Tracy LaRoche (Scott) and Kristie Compton (Rockie); brother, Sol Halbrooks; and five grandchildren, Regan LaRoche, Hunter LaRoche, Chandler Compton, Delanie Compton, and Audrie Compton.

Pallbearers will be Scott LaRoche, Rockie Compton, Hunter LaRoche, Scott Halbrooks, Thurston Melson, and Dustin Halbrooks.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Oliver and Roger Halbrooks.
