James Michiel "Big Red" Reeves

Funeral service for James Michiel " Big Red" Reeves, age 68, of Decatur will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. 

Mr. Reeves, who died Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born November 1, 1955, in Alabama to James Olan Reeves and Maudie Abner Reeves.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Reeves; and three sisters, Betty Proctor (Charles), Peggy Smith (Gus), and Tammy Reeves.  

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Foote Reeves; two sons, James "Matt" Gedling (Jessica) and Justin Keenum; three daughters, Tanya Keenum (Kevin), Jennifer Keenum, and Ariele Dellaporta; two brothers, Ronnie Reeves (Debra) and Mark Reeves; five sisters, Jean Cockrell, Jaculine Bates, Janice Hawsey (Ronnie), Tina Nelms (J.R.), and Lisa Reeves (Timmy); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jason Keenum, Kevin Dickey, Jeremy Kirby, Ricky Teague, Zachary Foote, and Michael Shelton.
