Hoyt Dunn

Funeral service for Hoyt  Dunn, age 89, of Decatur, will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Standridge officiating.  The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service.  Interment will be in Caddo Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfh.com.

Mr. Dunn, who died Monday, July 27, 2026, at his residence, was born February 5, 1937, in Alabama to John Turner Dunn and Gertie Mae Hayes Dunn.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Shell Dunn; son, Ronald "Boe" Dunn; parents; and brothers, Crystal Dunn, Alfred Dunn, John T. Dunn, Jr., Marquette Dunn, Lon C. Dunn, and O'Neal Dunn; and sister, Ivene Dunn Hill.

He is survived by his daughters, Janice Maresh (Eric), May Lynn Dunn, and Holly Frederick (Byron); six grandchildren, Steven Maresh (Mary Beth), Andrew Maresh, Kevin Maresh, Meghan Byars Hollaway, Louis Byars, and Parker Bradshaw; and two great-grandchildren, Mitchell Maresh and Evan Hollaway.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
