Funeral service for Gloria Jean Cockrell, age 76, of Trinity will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chape, with Rev. Tony Pepper officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Cockrell, who died Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Huntsville, was born June 23, 1948, to Olan and Maudie Reeves. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Cockrell; parents; brothers, Terry Lynn "Beaver" Reeves and James "Big Red" Reeves; sisters, Betty Proctor and Peggy Smith; grandson, Tyler Berryhill; and brother-in-law, Gus Smith.
She is survived by three sons, Timothy Cockrell (Andrea), Randy Cockrell (Toni Barber), and Keith Cockrell; two brothers, Ronnie Reeves (Debra) and Mark Reeves; four sisters, Jacqueline Bates, Janice Hasley (Ronnie), Tina Nelms (JR), and Lisa Nelms (Timmy); son-in-law, Leon Jones; brother-in-law, Charles Proctor; 12 grandchildren, Jacob Cockrell (Kimberly), Meghan Warden-Smiley (John), Dakota Cockrell, Kerrie Cockrell, Justin Cockrell, Taylor Duncan (Zach), Shannon Cockrell, Joseph Cockrell, Makenzie Cockrell, Kenny Swain, Destin Swain, and Lexie Berryman; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Cockrell, Dakota Cockrell, Joseph Cockrell, Brandon Reeves, Hayden Reeves, and Bo Smith.
