Gail Elaine Dodson

Graveside service for Gail Elaine Dodson, age 75, of Decatur, will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Midway Memorial Gardens with Parkway Funeral Home directing. 

Ms. Dodson, who died Monday, June 10, 2024, at River City Center, was born May 31, 1949, in Kentucky to Marvin Henry Dodson and Mary Williamson Dodson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Samuel Lynn Dodson.  An educator who taught English, she also provided adult GED assistance.  Gail loved spending time with her family, attending church, doing puzzles, reading, scrapbooking, and traveling.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Burgess (Subrina) and William "Billy" Hayes (Shealaye); two sisters, Donna Puckett (Jack) and Rene Chrisman; three grandchildren, Katelyn Hayes, Amy-Taylor Hayes (Chase), and Michael Burgess, Jr. (April); three great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
