Funeral service for Freda Clarice Gaddis Shelton, age 73, of Hartselle, will be 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Spencer Bell officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Shelton, who passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at her residence, was born February 26, 1952, in Alabama to Clara Norene Parvin Gaddis. She was preceded in death by her mother; three brothers, J. L. Gaddis (Beverly), Perry Gaddis, and Steven Gaddis; and two sisters, Bobbye Hankins (Freddie) and Eleanor Liles (Travis). Freda was a devout Christian and member of Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ in Moulton. She was ready and excited to go see Jesus and her momma. Her leisure time was enjoyed making a variety of crafts and floral arrangements, working outside with her flowers and garden, and thrift shopping. She and Ronnie especially enjoyed traveling to new and old places, and finding estate and yard sale treasures.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Shelton; daughter, Tracy Taylor (Marcus); stepson, Kyle Nelson (Kimmy); stepdaughters, Brittney Henderson (Chase) and Emily Tapscott (Coty); brother, Jack Gaddis (Jackie); sisters, Wanda Harris (Dan) and Connie Keen (Jimmy); and five step-grandchildren, Kaily Henderson, Jay Henderson, Christopher "Lane" Thrasher, Layne Tapscott, and joyfully anticipating the arrival of River Laine Tapscott.
Pallbearers will be Heath Cross, Mike Hankins, Jackie Hankins, Gavin Gaddis, Chase Henderson, and Coty Tapscott. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Keen, Jerry Gaddis, Marcus "Melvin" Echols, Kyle Nelson, and Logan Harville.
