Evelyn Virginia (Douglas) Peoples

Funeral service for Evelyn Virginia (Douglas) Peoples, age 78, of Town Creek will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Kimbrough officiating.  Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Enmond Field, Addison.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mrs. Peoples, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital was born April 7, 1944, in Florida to Austin Douglas and Frances Watson Douglas.  She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Scott; daughter, Brenda Kirby; parents; husbands, Morris Gene Stephens, Sr. and Billy Peoples; three brothers, Gene Douglas, George Douglas, and Jerome Douglas; and two sisters, Barbra Vincent and Louise Downs.  She was a member of Cave Springs Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by five sons, Randy Scott (Donna), Tony Scott (Pam), Bobby Scott, Morris Stephens (Kelly), and Stony Stephens (Sonya); son-in-law, Jimmy Kirby; two brothers, Jackie Douglas (Mary) and David Douglas; two sisters, Susie Peoples and Viola Douglas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Four members of her family loved her as family and caregivers, Sonya Stephens, Brooke Wright, Sharona Maples, and Kaelyn Stephens.  The entire family would like to express their special thanks for their compassionate care, as well as their time and devotion to Mrs. Peoples.
