Doris Ann Baker, age 82, of Decatur, AL, passed away on March 31, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 9th from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Pastor Israel Milligan giving the eulogy, Pastor Edward Owens reading the obituary, and Pastor Wendell Prince officiating the service. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery directly after.
Mrs. Baker was born February 17, 1943, to Herman Golden and Flora Burnham Golden. She worked at Goodyear for 32 years. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Abbi. You could always catch her at O'Charley's on Wednesdays for some free pie. She loved spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Baker loved to watch the Atlanta Braves every opportunity she had. She was also very involved with her church and community, and took great joy in directing many church plays over the years.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Golden and Flora Burnham Golden; sister, Frances Prince; and daughters, Delynne Langham and Stephanie Holt.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, James Baker; son, Michael Holt (Jan); grandson, Jason Holt (Kaylea Morris); granddaughter, Anna Grace Milligan (Trenton); and nephews, Wendell Prince (Kristi) and Rick Prince (Missy).
Pallbearers will be friends.
