Donald Earl McGregory, age 77, of Decatur, died Thursday, November 20, 2025, in Limestone County. His family will host a private celebration of life at a later date. Parkway Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com
Mr. McGregory was born December 9, 1947, in Alabama to Earl Gene McGregory and Billie Florence Thomas McGregory. He was preceded in death by his parents. Don was a man who deeply loved his family, and nothing brought him more joy than being present for his grandchildren. He never missed a ballgame or event, always showing up with a smile and a hug for everyone he saw. He enjoyed the simple things in life - fishing, shopping at yard sales, and spending time metal detecting. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting in 1972. He was also a high school track and football star, which is likely why watching his grandchildren play sports became one of his greatest joys.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Smith) McGregory; three sons, Mark McGregory, Jason McGregory, and Bryan McGregory (Whitney); brother, Ronald McGregory (Elizabeth); sister, Judy Wann (Mike); and two grandchildren, Bella Claire McGregory and Ryder McGregory.
