Dessie Lucille "Lucy" (Gillespie) Sealy

The family of Dessie Lucille "Lucy" (Gillespie) Sealy, age 90, of Hillsboro, will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 4915 W. Mrs. Sealy, who died Thursday, August 15, 2024, at her residence, was born April 8, 1934, in Alabama to Manuel Gillespie and Gladys Montgomery Gillespie.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Gillespie; and three sisters, Jimmie Filyaw (Newt), Mildred Dutton (Leon), and Sandra Smith.  Locally, Lucy was an active member of Harmony Baptist Church, and during her time in Florida, she attended Turkey Creek Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Lee Sealy; son, Dwayne Sealy; daughter, Charlotte Sealy; brother, Phillip Gillespie (Becky); four sisters, Martha Raper (Harvey), Vickie Winchester (Dale), Janet Gillentine (Larry), and Clara Terry (Benny); brother-in-law, Clyde Smith; sister-in-law, Elaine Gillespie; four grandchildren, Justin, Adam, Emily, and Alicia; and a host of great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and extended family.
