Funeral service for Christine Hodges Sutton, age 91, of Decatur will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Sutton, who died Saturday, October 19, 2024, at her residence, was born November 17, 1932, in Alabama to Jim Hodges and Claudia Glasco Hodges. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Rev. Earl Sutton; parents; siblings, Albert Hodges (Levine), Myrtle Haygood (Charlie), Grace Bordon (Enoch), Gladys Fuller (Veto), and Mattie Lee Pearson. Christine was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy, and spent her lifetime in full time ministry with her loving husband. She was known as Maw Maw to her family. Her grandchildren loved to visit her house and enjoy homemade chicken fingers.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Trotter (Larry); two sisters, Viola Sutton (Elmer) and Josephine Fuller (Wallace); two grandchildren, Lori Scott (Joshua) and Joshua Trotter (Tammy); and five great-grandchildren, Lenox Scott, Anna Grace Trotter, Lexi Scott, Grayson Trotter, and Landon Scott.
Pallbearers will be Josh Scott, Landon Scott, Tony Fuller, Ron Bradford, Matthew Collins, and Grayson Trotter.
