Chanston Scott "Leroy" Nelms

Funeral service for Chanston Scott "Leroy" Nelms, age 2, of Moulton, will be 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Adrian Mostella officiating.  His family will receive friends for two hours prior to service.  Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens. 

Chanston, who died Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Children's of Birmingham, was born January 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his sibling, Baby Hill, and grandfather, Donald Franks.  He was a true blessing to his family and community, and he absolutely loved tractors.

He is survived by his parents, Dalton and Haley Hill and Melody Blaxton; brothers, Dalton Williams and Winston Hayes; sisters, Nevaeh Williams, Nayomi Williams, Hollianne Hill, Jordyn Blaxton, Dana Whittington (Damion), and Maray Blaxton; grandmother, Sherri Franks; grandfather, Jimmy White; uncle, Jeremy White (Jessica); aunt, Natasha White (Michael); cousins, Emilia Whittington, Walton Whittington, and Regina Smith; and extended family, Ashley Taylor.  

Pallbearers will be Dalton Hill, Ethan Waldrep, Jeremy White, and Damion Whittington.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy White, Aaron Neil, and Ricky Oliver.

Chanston's family would like to express their gratitude to UAB, Children's of Alabama, Legacy of Hope, Family Worship Center, Revive, and to his entire community for their care and outpouring of love.
