Carolyn Ann (Smith) Hayes

Carolyn (Smith) Hayes of Decatur, Alabama went home August 31, 2023.  Graveside service will be held September 5, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Midway Memorial Gardens in Lawrence County with Pastor Brandon Lewis officiating.  The family will receive family and friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Carl Hayes; parents Lloyd Smith and Lillie Mae McIntyre Smith; brother, Frank Smith; and sister, Barbara Gautreaux. 

Carolyn is survived by her son, Bo Hayes (Wimbreth) and daughter Carla Hayes Eckenrod (Mark); grandchildren, Nick Hayes (Emily), Alex Hayes, Lila Hayes, Sadie Eckenrod, and Della Eckenrod; and great grandchildren Addi, Lola, Nellie, Rayleigh, and Wyatt. 

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. 

In lieu of gifts or flowers the family asks that you make a memorial donation to a charity of your choice or show an unexpected act of kindness that makes someone smile or laugh in Carolyn’s memory.
