Carleen (Birdwell) Gillespie

Funeral service for Carleen Birdwell Gillespie, age 96, of Moulton, will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Midway Church of Christ with Bro. David Barker and Bro. Larry Little officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to service at the church.  Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mrs. Gillespie, who died Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Lawrence Medical Center was born November 4, 1927, in Alabama to Raymond Vinson Birdwell and Zadie Bell Chandler Birdwell.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Gillespie; parents; and grandson, Adam Gillespie.  Mrs. Gillespie was a member of Midway Church of Christ. 

She is survived by her son, Randy Gillespie (Betsy);  four daughters, Pamela Delashaw, Amy Gillespie Henderson, Abby Alexander, and Patti Gillespie (David);  nine grandchildren, LeAnn Delashaw Gheen, Tracy Delashaw McDonald, Callie Henderson Singleton, Keri Delashaw Fletcher, Zeb Henderson, Sallie Henderson Long, Daxton Gillespie, Kaylee Alexander Barksdale, and Blaze Gillespie; and 22 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Zeb Henderson, Daxton Gillespie, Blaze Gillespie, Caden Gheen, Caleb Fletcher, and Zander Long;  Honorary pallbearers will be Ty Henderson, Jace Gheen, Brady Singleton, Jake McDonald, Cailex Fletcher, Micah Gillespie, Zaiden Long, Eli Gillespie, and Beckham Barksdale.
