Funeral service for Betty Jean (Long) Buttram, age 82, of Hillsboro, will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Cater officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.
Mrs. Buttram, who died Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Summerford Health and Rehabilitation, was born August 25, 1941, in Alabama to Homer Paul Long and Gracie Viola Cameron Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Emerson Buttram; son, Michael Wayne Buttram; parents; granddaughter, Leslie Buttram Gillespie; brother, Hayward Long; twin sister, Dorothy Dean Parker; sisters, Hilda Terry and Marie Thompson. Mrs. Buttram was employed with Prestolite as a production operator for more than 37 years. She was a member of Harmony Baptist church. Her leisure time was enjoyed working in her flower beds, crocheting, and Alabama football.
She is survived by her daughter, Liz Buttram Reed (Larry); three grandchildren, Lindsey Reed Todd (Jeff), Paul Buttram, and Cayla Johnson (Max); five great-grandchildren, Eryn Gillespie, Bryant Gillespie, Kynlee Gillespie, Kai Johnson, and Jinn-Michael Johnson; sister, Faye Livingston; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Buttram.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and CNA's on West Haven hall for being so kind and loving to my mom.
