Bertha Sue Jenkins Alexander, age 84, of Trinity, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 14, 2025. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Compton and Rev. R. C. Borden officiating. Bertha was born August 18, 1940, to Jim D. and Bertie Perry Jenkins. Bertha married Odes Arnold Alexander on May 11, 1958. She was the mother to six children and worked at Ott's IGA in Moulton for several years. Bertha enjoyed working in her yard, flowers, and growing a garden. She and Arnold enjoyed many years of camping adventures in Cades Cove. The thing she was most proud of were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Alexander; parents; her sisters, Daphine Aldridge and Gwen Shipley; and her brothers, Jerry Jenkins, Gary Jenkins, and Jimmy Joe Jenkins.
Bertha is survived by her children, Beth Compton (Greg), Dean Alexander (Wanda), Margaret Free (Rex), Mark Alexander (Debbie), Jim Alexander (Leshane), and Doreatha Lowery (Rodney); 11 grandchildren, Brandon Compton, Brooke Treadway, Richie Alexander, Makayla Alexander, Amber Free, Cory Alexander, Callie Bright, Lance Alexander, Logan Alexander, Katie Lynn Lowery, Connery Lowery; and a host of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rachel Wix and Melba McWhorter; and beloved family and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Aveanna Hospice, and nurses, Megan, Savannah, Carla, and Tania.
