Barbara Ann (Hitt) Copeland

Funeral service for Barbara Ann Hitt Copeland, age 81, of Town Creek will be 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hollis Retherford officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in Black Ground Cemetery, Town Creek.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Mrs. Copeland, who died Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center, was born February 17, 1944, in Alabama to Willie Marvin Hitt and Helen Philene Clardy Hitt.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clinton Copeland; her parents; five brothers, Randy Hitt, Jimmy Hitt, Wendell Hitt, Billy Hitt, and Kenneth Hitt; sister, Scharline Yarbrough (Buddy); and brother-in-law, Larry O'Dell.  Barbara loved her church and participating in all its events.  Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her greatest joy.  She also enjoyed crafting, cooking, and traveling with her sisters.

She is survived by her son, James M. Copeland; daughter, Gina Copeland Burden (Tommy); four sisters, Carol Shelton (Bob), Patricia Miller (Randall), Jackie O'Dell, and Dorothy Stephenson (Stanton); sister-in-law, Evaun Hitt; three grandchildren,  Blake Burden (Emily), Adam Burden, and Austin Copeland; and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Levi, and Nikolai Burden. 

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
