Funeral service for Anthony Dwight "Tony" Terry, age 68, of Hartselle will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens. Mr. Terry, who died Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his residence, was born March 5, 1957, in Alabama to Billy Dwight Terry and Sarah Ellen McCombs Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Blair D. Terry.
Mr. Terry was a 1975 graduate of Lawrence County High School. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve from 1975-1987, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class in the Military Police Unit. He went on to work as a supervisor/superintendent for General Motors from 1978-2008, earning several awards for his dedication and leadership. He was married for 44 years to Judy Latham Terry, and together they raised Adam Terry and Abby Terry Wilson. He coached youth baseball, basketball, and football, and served as a Decatur Junior Achievement advisor from 1987-1989. Mr. Terry was also a proud member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Latham Terry; son, Adam Dwight Terry; daughter, Abby Terry Wilson (Aaron); brother, Daryl Terry; sister, Celia Terry-Minskey; and a host of grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Alexander, Stacy Alexander, Weston Terry, Ashley Alexander, and Eli Latham. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryson Terry and Colten Wilson.
