Deverl Lamon, a man of unwavering integrity, tireless work ethic, and quiet compassion, passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on March 26, 1949, to Albert Frank Lamon and Anna Raye Lentz Lamon, Deverl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before returning home to dedicate his life to farming.
In December 1974, he married Bonnie McLemore, and together they shared over 50 years of marriage — raising two children and building a home grounded in the values
they held dear.
A storyteller, Deverl had a way of bringing laughter and joy to everyday moments. Whether enjoying a fine meal out or a simple plate of homemade spaghetti, he treasured those times most when shared with family. Known as “Pops” by his grandchildren, they provided him with tremendous pride and filled his life with joy, laughter, and light.
A man who lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family and service, he found peace and reflection at Smith Lake, a place of rest and renewal that became his sanctuary. Deverl read his daily devotion and prayed for those he loved.
His life was rich in simple joys, strong values, and deep purpose, a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Deverl was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Farrel Lamon (Judy). He is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughter Brandi Lamon-Pinkerton, her husband Craig
Pinkerton and their daughter Anna; and son Brad Lamon, his children Claudia and Judson, his fiancé Brandi Treadway, and her children Hailey Landers and Jackson
Landers.
He is also survived by his siblings: sisters Ruth Murphree (Pryor) and Lois Allen (Lindon) and brother Randall Lamon (Anita).
