Karen Patricia (Mathews) Jenkins of Moulton Alabama died Friday afternoon at 1:40 p.m. She was 59 years old. Karen grew up as an army brat and spent her childhood traveling the world. She met and married the love of her life, Glenn, while living in Germany and that was where their oldest child was born before Glenn brought her back to his home town to raise their family. To those who were lucky enough to come across Karen in life, she was a most loving and caring person, watching over everyone she met as if they were her own child. She raised two daughters and was a proud grandmother of four grandchildren. She loved and thrived under her role as a Nana. Her loving heart and artistic talent made her the perfect friend, wife, mother, and Nana in every way. As she was in life, she is also giving in death. As a registered organ donor, Karen will continue to give and help others.
Karen is preceded in death by her mother Onnie Mae Mathews. She is survived by her Father, Roy Glen Mathews, Husband, James Glenn Jenkins, two sisters Susan (Michael) Vaughn and Michele (Kipp) Martines, two daughters Carmen (Chris) Ludington and Tonya (John) Austin, and four grandchildren, Blaise Ludington, Bryson Austin, Aurora Ludington, and Miles Austin.
Visitation will take place Monday night from 6 to 8 pm at Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity, Alabama and the funeral will take place at 2 Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home with burial following the service at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
