Funeral for Carlton Yarbrough, 78, of Decatur will be Monday, June 17, 2019, at Parkway Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Danny Pitts officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday two hours before the service at the funeral home. Mr. Yarbrough, who died Friday, June 14, 2019, was born November 14, 1940, to Quinton Yarbrough and Ruthie Terry Yarbrough and joins his wife and life-long love, Evelyn Yarbrough, in heaven with his Heavenly Father. As the founder of Yarco, Inc., a contracting company specializing in drywall and metal stud framing, he was the embodiment of the American dream, leaving his legacy all over the state from the Gulf Coast to North Alabama. He was known and loved by many and was always willing to extend a helping hand. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sharing his passion of angling, fish fries, and watching football with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Quinton and Ruthie Terry Yarbrough, wife of 58 years, Evelyn Yarbrough, and brother, Carlon (C.W.) Yarbrough.
Mr. Yarbrough is survived by his two sons, Eugene (Katherine) Yarbrough and Jeremey (Danielle) Yarbrough; two daughters, Carlene (Ray) Askew and Sonja (David) Manthey; brother, Tony Yarbrough; two sisters, Glenda Yarbrough and Kay Mesa; eleven grandchildren, Anna, Addison, Taylor, Harrison, Ian, Quinton, Larryn, Logan, Connor, Peyton, and Ellington; and three great grandchildren, Hudson, Henry, and Hattie.
Pall bearers will be his grandsons.
